World Ocean Day
World Ocean Day is organised every year on 8 June by the United Nations. Its aim is to remind people of the importance of the role of the oceans for life on earth, and to make the general public aware of the means that exist to protect them.
On this occasion, the Armada, under the patronage of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Sciences for Sustainable Development, the French National Commission for UNESCO and with the support of Sorbonne University, is organising a symposium on the protection of the oceans.
It will be held on 8 June 2023 at the Pavillon des Transitions on the quays of Rouen's right bank. You will be able to attend conferences on various themes such as the abysses, marine mammals, and the thousand-year-old history of Rouen and the Seine.
