Canopée

Designed to transport elements of the Ariane 6 rocket from European ports to Kourou, in French Guiana, this 121-meter-long cargo ship was launched at the end of 2022, it is propelled by four 363 m² wings rigged on 36 meters in height.

This is the first commercial application of the Oceanwings concept; in proportion to the main motorization, Canopée is the modern vessel that has the most recourse to the use of the wind, 11 rotations per year are planned between Europe and Guyana.

The addition of these wings makes it possible to reduce consumption by 15% without modifying the operational speed, i.e. a saving of 3.5 tonnes of fuel per day in navigation.
