FREMM Normandie was built in 2018 and entered service in June 2020. She is the sixth FREMM developed for the French Navy.
It is a first rank combat ship. It is a multipurpose destroyer capable of controlling an air-sea operation zone, giving support to the Strategic oceanic force, escorting and protecting a valuable unit (such as an aircraft carrier), using the Naval Cruise Missile (MdCN), and leading anti-surface, anti-submarine and anti-air warfare. Based in Brest, she is manned by 110 sailors.
