The Joanna Saturna is a Finnish steel-hulled topsail schooner, built in 1903 at a shipyard in Flardingen, the Netherlands.
Restored and refitted for cruising since 2000, by her Finnish owner, she participates in the various Tall Ships' Races organized by Sail Training International, in class B. She sails mainly in the Baltic Sea. The only sailboat of this type in Finland, it is also classified as a historical monument.
Built in 1903 in Vlaardingen, this sailboat was a traditional small two-master for herring fishing in the Baltic Sea and was named after Joanna Saturna.
In 1927, it was transformed into a coaster, taking the name of Marie under the German flag.
In 1957, she passed under the Norwegian flag, continuing the cabotage.
In 1976, it was transformed into an hourglass until 2000.
She was bought by Finland in 2000. Her current owner, Mikko Karvonen, restored her to her original form of a traditional schooner and her original name.
Joanna Saturna has since taken part in many Tall Ships' Races, such as the 2013 Tall Ships Races in the Baltic Sea.
