Le Renard is a cutter with topsails, a replica of the last ship fitted out in 1812 by the privateer Robert Surcouf (1773-1827).
Created in 1988, in an effort to promote maritime heritage, the association Le cotre corsaire - Le Renard has set itself the goal of reviving and sailing this cutter, an emblematic witness of the history of the city of Saint-Malo.
Since its launch in 1991, the boat has participated in some of the most prestigious international nautical events. On these occasions, it can be chartered by individuals as well as by groups (company boards...).
In addition, each year, with an educational aim, Le Renard also welcomes on board children from schools in the region to enable them to be made aware of the values of the maritime world, as well as their history; and to make them discover their heritage, seen from the sea.
