PSP Flamant

Flamant is a patrol vessel built in Cherbourg and which entered service December 18, 1997. She patrols France’s exclusive economic zone.

Based in Cherbourg, the Flamant-class patrol vessels carry out various missions: territory maritime defence, (monitoring traffic in order to avoid accidents in the busy Channel), control of the application of fishing and navigation regulations, prevention of illicit traffic, fight against maritime pollution and rescue.

The Flamant is manned by a crew of 20 sailors.
