Captain Miranda is a schooner with three-master from now on urugayen training ship since 1978. It was built in 1930 in Cadiz, in Spain, to serve at first as cargo boat between Europe and South America.
In 1960, the urugayenne navy acquires the sailboat to make an oceanographic research vessel. It is renamed by the name of Capitaini Miranda, officer of Uruguayan Marine. At that time, the sailboat has only two masts.
In the 70s, intended for the demolition, It is rehabilitated. Both masts are replaced by three masts duralium, and new sails dacron train the rigging.
From 1978, it becomes training ship and takes care of the training of young officers of the Uruguayan navy.
