Monge
Based in Brest, Monge is a test and measurement vessel (1000BEM). It serves in the National Navy since November 1992. It has three radars, including one named "Normandy", as well as a surveillance station for observation. This vessel is mainly used to carry out tests that validate missile deterrence forces.
Its main technical missions are tracking and measuring rocket trajectories, monitorig tactical and ballistic missiles, satellite tracking and, less often, the implementation or pursuit of aerial targets for force training. This ship is the only vessel of its kind in the French Navy and one of the very few in the world.
