Santa Maria Manuela
Built in 1937 by the CUF of Lisbon and owned by a fishing company, this vessel is one of the cod fishing boats of the Portuguese fishing fleet in Newfoundland, just like Créoula. It was modified and improved several times in order to make it more efficient for fishing. In 1993, it was considered obsolet, but it reappeared in 2010 after a long restoration thanks to Santa Maria Manuela Foundation, which is formed by several public institutions.
Santa Maria Manuela is a Portuguese training ship, registered as National Portuguese Heritage. This sailing ship is chartered for cultural tourism and serves as a training ship by boarding 50 trainees in its furnished cabins.
